Headaches and Outbreaks on a Lunar New Year

Today is the first day of Chinese New Year and I want to talk about it. So every Chinese New Year my mom bakes different Chinese snacks, such as a type of Chinese chip like things (I don't know there ingredients),dried seaweed surrounded by a crunchy thing, pineapple cookies, and some more, but my personal favorite is her peanut cookies. (which I actually know the ingredients of as you'll see later) A few weeks ago I helped my mom with these cookies. We would shape a mixture of peanut and oil into a ball, use this thingie to put a hole in it for the peanut to go in, then use this egg mixture to spread around the hole to make the peanut stick, and then it is baked. (don't use this as an actual recipe, because if anyone is using this blog post made by a random 9 year old on the internet that I recalled from memory as a recipe, then I've lost all hope for humanity). However yesterday, I got a big headache yesterday from not drinking sufficient water. Eventually it cooled...

Spelling Bee "Winner"

Alright, so yesterday I won my school's spelling bee and I wanna talk about it. So basically my school spelling bee took place at our news studio and each of the 9 contestants come up and spell progressively harder words. After 10 rounds the competitors who misspelled a word during the rounds get eliminated. After that, the remaining competitors spell words out until either one competitor remains or they run out of words. Alright, so lets back up a bit to learn about the events before the big day, aka the studying. So when I was studying I firstly circled the words I didn't know, which meant that these words would get extra practice. So, my dad called out a word and I would try and spell it. If I got it wrong he would ask me to spell it again. My sister also completely kept pestering me about the words McIntosh and grown-ups. She pestered me over these words because i forgot there was a hyphen in grown-ups and that the I in McIntosh was capitalized. So, when the day finally cam...

Everything I Draw Comes to Life Part Three: The Genie Girl

"Let's do this!" Ally said as she jumped onto her bed with Callie. Callie said "Hmm... what should we draw? I know what we should draw! Lets draw a slice of cake! I' hungry, because I didn't eat breakfast..." "How did I not think of drawing food??!! Anyways, besides me realizing how stupid I am, lets get drawing!" Ally said "May the best cake win!" So the two friends started drawing their cakes. When they were finished, they showed eachother the cakes they drew. "Wow, Callie that's actually a pretty good drawing of an ice cream cake!" Good? You call this disaster of a cake good? It's literally nothing compared to yours! Your strawberry cheesecake is amazing!" Callie replied to Ally's comment. "What? That's not true Callie!!"Ally replied. "Girl, you shouldn't compare yourself to others." a voice said. "Wait who said that?!" Callie and Ally said in unison.   The voice s...

Everything I Draw Comes to Life Part Two: Lets Do This!

Why is there a puppy in my room!? Ally exclaimed as the puppy jumped onto her lap and licked her face. "It looks like the one in my drawing....wait, DID MY DRAWING JUST COME TO LIFE?!" At first, Ally drew with reckless abandon. However she soon realized the dangers of her power. "Wait, I could crash the stock market! I could create something that could kill everybody! I could make a black hole that could destroy our entire solar system! So, she decided she should use her power wisely and donate to homeless shelters and charities and draw  food an water to give to the homeless. Of course, she used it for personal reasons too, she made tons of clothes and room decoration and items she always wanted but could not afford. The next morning, she woke up in her new and improved bedroom. She didn't have anything else to do since she wiped all of the drawing paper clean, and was worried about the side effects of what would come out if she used worksheet paper so she grabbed ...

Everything I Draw Comes To Life Part One: The First Of Many

"Bye Callie! Bye Aaron!" said Ally when she came home from school on a Friday. When she finished walking to her house, she dug up the house keys which were hidden in an old shoebox. She then locked the door and walked up the stairs and got to her room. After she opened her room door Ally said "Damn, my room is messy, I really need to clean it. She went to her cleaning closet and got container of wipes, and a duster.  While she was dusting her desk drawers she found an old sketchbook filled with drawings she made as a little kid. When she was done cleaning, she took a piece of paper and a shiny blue pen with her name engraved on it, and began drawing a corgi puppy she called George who had a blue collar. After she was done she said "It looks cute, I wish it was real!" She heard a voice say "Your wish has been granted.""Wait, what?!" Ally said in a surprised tone. After a giant flash of light brighter than the sun a corgi puppy materialized b...

Winter Rainyland

Okay, i'm sorry I didn't start my new series in this blog post, but I wanted to talk about this.So currently the holiday mood is fully in action and my whole neighborhood is decorated with Christmas lights, wreaths, snowmen, and other christmasy things. Because of how merry it looks around our neighborhood as well as some other factors is what made me and my mom decide to go for a walk. However one thing stood in my way:Weather. You see, it was raining outside and my dad knew this and said we had to cancel our Winter Walk. I was not happy because I wanted to see the pretty lights and decorations around the neighborhood. I made the argument that it was only a light sprinkle. Me and my mom ended up making a compromise that we would go out, but not for too long. And, I have to say the decorations look even better at night, mostly do to the lights. There were glowing deer and snowmen families and scenes from the bible. So we took photos of the scenes, but since on some of them my m...

Anything I Draw Comes To Life: Prologue

Ally woke up on a Saturday morning in the mood to draw. Her father seemed to be in a bad mood last night, and she wanted her dad to cheer up. She grabbed her sketchbook, which had a horse on its cover, and her light blue pen which had her name engraved on it and began to draw a smiley face. She surrounded it with roses and love hearts surrounding the face. She grabbed her pack of crayons from a nearby shelf and began coloring it in trying to make it more cheery so her dad would cheer up. When she was satisfied, she grabbed it from her desk, and went into the kitchen, where her dad was cooking breakfast.  When her dad saw the drawing a grin crossed his face. He said "I love it! I bet when I show your mother she'll love it too." Ally went back up the stairs, unknowing of her father's secret grievance.   As the years passed, Ally and her dads relationship slowly crumbled into pieces causing them to be more distant. She stopped drawing since her dad stopped want...
