Birthday Bash

So yesterday was my birthday(Its on October 17th by the way...)and so I have things to say. So it started when my mom called me downstairs for my birthday celebration and saw the cake which was fully decorated and according to her was a "dirtied cake" which she only did because my sister said something about a minecraft cake and she placed the cake down on the coffee table. Then,the rest of my family showed up and we started the celebrating.So first we entered in a call with my grandpa who lives in Malaysia and also sent me a message a few days earlier and wished me happy birthday the day before my actual birthday.We also took some pictures(my dad edited one of them later to cover up a roll of paper)and my dad filmed me blowing out my ten candles and opening my presents which were a paper mache vileplume (which is a pokemon)a paper mache egg incubator (which was also from pokemon)and a painting,(which were all from my sister because my parents gift arrived late).So I ate the cake and in it,it had peaches,strawberry,bits of chocolate(which made it "dirtied")frosting of course,and a heart shaped brownie in the center.I don't know what else to say so i'm gonna wrap this up.See you in my next blog!

 Today is the first day of Chinese New Year and I want to talk about it. So every Chinese New Year my mom bakes different Chinese snacks, such as a type of Chinese chip like things (I don't know there ingredients),dried seaweed surrounded by a crunchy thing, pineapple cookies, and some more, but my personal favorite is her peanut cookies. (which I actually know the ingredients of as you'll see later) A few weeks ago I helped my mom with these cookies. We would shape a mixture of peanut and oil into a ball, use this thingie to put a hole in it for the peanut to go in, then use this egg mixture to spread around the hole to make the peanut stick, and then it is baked. (don't use this as an actual recipe, because if anyone is using this blog post made by a random 9 year old on the internet that I recalled from memory as a recipe, then I've lost all hope for humanity). Song of the Shell - Prologue

     I can't remember much about my childhood. Whenever my family brings up the foods we ate, the sights we saw, or the people we met back then, my mind draws a blank. But there is one memory I remember in vivid detail, one which I could never forget no matter what,      You may have heard of the rumor that if you put a seashell up to your ear, you can hear the ocean inside of it. I had too, so when me and my family went to the beach when I was 6, I dug my way through the sand until I found one, gleaming and glistening in the summer sun.      Then, I  held it up to my ear and was awestruck by what I heard. What started out as the simple, yet relaxing sound of tides on a beach. But soon, the sound warped into a ballad of voices, singing like a stream of pure water. It was sorrowful, but enchanting, I couldn't take my ears off of it. I could've sat in the sand, indulging in the hypnotic song, forever. But soon, the sun set, and I had to return to the monotony of daily life.

Our Nightmare Trip to New York

 So I've been gone for a while. Partly because I've been away on a vacation to Malaysia for 2 months, and partly out of sheer laziness. The trip to Malaysia is worth a few blogs of it's own, but what I wanted to talk about was the nightmare that happened while we were trying to go home. Now, the trip to Malaysia was already unpleasant, what with one plane smelling of piss and me and my family trying (and failing) to sleep, and me vomiting on another, so by the time we made it we were already dreading the flight home. But the trip home managed to be EVEN WORSE.  It started off small, but annoying, with some guy at the Qatar Airport giving us wrong information and forcing us to go through airport security again . And while the flight itself wasn't too bad, the hassle crept back in after the flight when they didn't tag our luggage properly and forced us to carry them around in this big metal cart.  Then, we had to wait in several hour-long lines before we could wait
